I ordered a 20X30 print for $20 before my vacation and this in my proof.

A fellow BYU-H alum started a business called My Aloha Photos and now has a display at Turtle Bay as well. Basically you purchase the print size, tell them what you want it to say, then they go to the beach, build your name with stuff from the beach, and shoot it. Amazing. Now I just need to find a frame and where to hang it. May have to re-arrange my gallery wall. hehehehehe Check out the website: www.myalohaphotos.com

OSU's 56th Annual Luau

Guess what?

I leaned a hula and danced at OSU's Luau put on by the Polynesian Cultural Club Hui O Hawaii.
A call went out for faculty and staff to join in the fun and I accepted the challenge. Pretty hilarious to watch I am sure.

Practice started at the end of January and the big day was Saturday April 23rd.

I was totally nervous as I was front and center (why does that always happen to me?) and we practiced like crazy. I have always wanted to learn the hula and now I can check it off my bucket list.

The whole night was amazing and totally reminded me of college. The performers were so talented and the venue was packed. Plus the food was soo good. I miss Hawaii!!!!

Greetings!! After getting a lot of flack for not posting here is your post. (Rachel) :)
Blake organized an awesome trip to Royal Basin in the Olympic National Park. Here are a few photos for the non Face book people. Well here is the documentation of our two day16 miles round trip backpacking epic experience. I thought I was going to die while the Blakester was in outdoor heaven. Lessons I learned I need to work out more but I still conquered that trail. OK OK even though these little old ladies totally smoked us I am still proud of myself for actually doing it and for not breaking down on the trail half way up and crying my eyes out because I was sooo sick of climing up. It went on and on and on and on. Ever steeper and rockier....i think you get the picture....

Mom's Weekend at OSU

Surfing, reunion, and Texas

Well, it has been over a month again but lots has happened naturally. This time I have pictures to prove it.

Most recently, I just got back from the best weekend ever with Blake in Houston, Texas. Lots of good old bonding time, kayaking, good food, and relaxing. Blake's tradition is to make Sunday dinner and I got to help him make a traditional Venezuelan dish from his mission. Shredded beef, black beans, rice, and fried plantains. It was pure goodness. All fresh ingredients and tasty. I hope we make that again. Then after dinner it was a mad game of cranium with friends. It was amazing. I am still on a happy high.

My Beautiful babies all decked out and ready to play. Here Blake is super bummed that the weather was crappy and too windy so we couldn't go kayak fishing. He really wanted to catch a shark. Yikes, I was just going to kayak and be the official photographer.

Happy Feet and plan B at Armand Bayou after a nice nap. No sharks but the possibility of gators. We were bummed we didn't see any. Although Blake's kayak got bumped by something and it was decided it could have been a gator checking him out. You never know.

So for old news...

July 17th Got to go surfing with my gal pal Kristin and we tried out a new spot at Otter Rock. It was small and windy but super worth it. What can I say surfing is always worth it no matter what.

July 31st - August 2nd Rocked the Quick family reunion in Washington at the end of July. Super fun times with funny people. Took a historic train ride to Snoqualmie Falls, took a dip in Sammamish lake with the kids, ate lots of yummy food, with the basketball court in the back yard lots of pickup games took place, Then my favorite we all sat around the fire pit roasting s'mores listening to stories from great Auncle Jimmy about he and grandpa growing up in Montana. Who knew they were little hellions. hehehehe. Then it was open roast hour with lots of family secrets being dished out by loving cousins. I had no idea my mom sunk a boat or that grandpa used to trow crab apples at cars!!!. hahahaha Needless to say it was pretty funny and caught all on film. I love my family.

Ok, It has been ages since my last post.

Here's what went down since my last post:

Spring Break March 20th - 29th:

Drove to Seattle and chilled with the rents
Flew to Salt Lake chilled with the In-Laws
Drove to Las Vegas and partied as hard as a Mormon can for three nights. Saw the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Explored the Strip, Enjoyed awesome weather, Etc... Too much to babble on about.
Drove back to Salt Lake, Chilled with family
Learned to Ski for the first time at Alta and met up with Kumar. thanks for teaching us.
Flew to Seattle, Drove to Vancouver, WA to crash a wedding reception. then drove home.

April 4th -Skiing

Went Skiing at Hoodoo. Blake is crazy good and we had an awesome time. This is our new sport

April 10 & 11 - Singing and Skiing

I sang in the Easter Concert and even has the female solo. It was amazing. So i did that Friday and Saturday. Blake supported me on Friday then took off for the mountains right after my performance with Skiing on the brain. Blake rocked it at Mt Hood on Saturday. I went to the beach with my killer friend Kristin and helped her pick out a new wetsuit. It was so much fun barely make it back in time for the concert hehehehe

April 17th - 19th Camping and Skiing

Klondike camping and skiing adventure. Drove up to Mt hood friday after work and pitched a tent. I froze but that is normal for me. Went skiing all day saturday. It was like 70 degrees and glorious. We were pooped when it closed so we pitched out tent and took a nap. Cooked dinner on the camp stove. yummo!!! Konked out. Ok We went apostate on Suday and went skiing all day again. It was great! Sorry mom. It was like 70 degrees again, i was getting so hot that i started to crash on purpose so i could just lay in the snow and cool down. Blake took on thh jumps and Black Diamonds. You are a stud!

last weekend April 25th - Surfing!!!

Went SURFING with my gal pal Kristin. She got to test out her new wetsuit. It was the best day ever. It was cold and rainy but perfect. Actually went to the right surf spot this time and totally had a blast. Still got a little sunburned. Go figure. Wish i was still tan. Blake had to study Boooo.

Time Out for Women Slumber Party

Last weekend I got to go down to Seattle and go the the "Time Out for Women" conference. It was amazing!!!!!!! I totally had needed a time out. I got to whisk my sister away from her family and meet up with my Aunt and cousins at Mom's house. Poor dad, there were seven ladies in the house. Needless to say we were everywhere and it was a total slumber party. Well hardly a slumber party we could not shut up and talk late every night. Hehehehe

I love my family and it was awesome to meet the newest cousins. Kim, you are awesome. Sarah, Welcome to the family!!! You are amazing too.

Thanks dad for putting up with us and for making the best breakfast ever.

We went to the Saturday session and my favorite LDS artist was there. Hilary Weeks!!! We got to meet her and get CD's signed. I love you!!! All of the speakers were amazing, hilarious and so uplifting. It was just what I needed. The one thing that stuck out to me was this: "Turn your complaints into a prayer. Add Heavenly father at the beginning and at the end of your complaints add in the name of Jesus Christ. You will fell better, have more communcation with the lord, and in essence handing the lord your problems. He knows you and knows exactly what you are feeling." I thought that was pretty clever. I am going to try it out. Maybe then I won't complain as much.

There were so many great tidbits I gleaned but they are in my notes so you don't get them. basically i can"t remember. But it was the most prefect day. Then after we walked down to the waterfront for Dinner. We had the intention to go shopping that night but we were all tooo tired so we went home. Although we did go to walmart. We were all so excited because all of us don't live close to one. We were only going to be there for a half hour but ofcourse being women we were there for over an hour. Hooray for Walmart.

So last night I was giving Blake a head massage and Toby started growling at us.
It was pretty hilarious to see him soooo jealous of Blake. He is used to just me playing with him and giving him attention. He was wanting his doggy massage.
Hehehehehe what a funny dog.

We went to the dog park on Saturday for a sunny stroll and to play fetch. We found an awesome field right by the river with no other dogs around. It was perfect to play fetch. Or so i though.
Toby and i were having a great old time playing when all of a sudden a little yappy dog came cruising over to where we where. Boy did he want Toby's ball. They both started playing but then the other dog started to get nippy. I did not like that. Anyway I tried to get the dogs collar but he was to quick. Owner still cruising at the other end of the park with not a care.... I had enough so I finally got the ball and held it above the doggies heads. Toby was a good boy and sat when I told them too but the other dog started jumping trying to get the ball snapping is jaws the whole time. Needless to say it bit me trying to get the ball and I was not a happy camper so I fianlly had to put athority in my voice and commanded it to sit. It did and the owners little girl finally showed up and put it's leash on. The Owner casually walks up and says "oh did we interrupt your training?" Interesting. I said "No, just playing." So then I thought it was amusing that I got her dog to sit. I must be a natural trainer. heheheheheh

OK so i may have dramatized here but it really bothers me when people let thier untrained dogs roam free and they get into other peoples business and bit even if it was an accident.

So Toby, You are the great dog ever!!!! So well behaved and fun to be with. We would adopt you in a heart beat even if you are super fuzzy!!!!

One year closer to 30 but i don't feel old at all. Must be my maturity level. hehehehehe

Anyway, mother nature gave me snow for my birthday and thus campus was closed until 10am. It was glorious to sleep in and go to work late. Plus it is beautiful outside. It truly feels like Christmas.

This is from this summer when Blake and I went to Mexico for our 3rd year anniversary. I actually just learned that Tulum (pictured) was a sacred place to the Mayans and they have 3 different carvings on the temple for the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Pretty cool huh?

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was awesome!!!!

I got to go to my sisters home and my parents came down from Seattle. Lots of good food and socializing. You can't beat that.

I got to make the green bean casserole which was ironic. I hate green beans!!! But I still ate some just for Blake. He loves them. But on a happy note, I got to also make an apple pie and the marvelous stuffing!

Melissa and I got to go shopping the day after. Boy did we live it up for like 6 hours of glorious shopping. It was fun to hang out with my big sis. Just the two of us. We actually got a lot done.

Then we were able to go see Australia on Saturday. Love the movie and I think everyone should see it. Epic fantasticness.

I have to say that my nieces are sooo cute and fun. Here is a funny epiphany they had. Grandma (mom) overheard and told me the gist of it. It went down like this :

"Mommy and Aunt Heather are having fun together huh!"

"Yeah and they are sisters!!!"

"They like to do things together."

They are finally grasping that sisters can be friends. It was cute. I can totally picture them having this conversation.

Twilight....need I say more?

Ok, I absolutely love the twilight series.

I went and saw the movie on Saturday with a few friends and boy were we stoked. It was good. But I have to say that I was very disappointed with the movie. I already knew it would not be as good as the book but seriously I would have done a lot of things different.

Like:
1. More character development for Bella & Edward, Bella's Dad, high school friends...

2. Have Bella actually close her mouth for once. I am sorry but having your mouth open all the time is not good acting.

3. Better effects for the sparkling skin. Rays of light and glow or something, not fake shimmer skin that looks like the back side of a sticker.

4. Edward with out all the eyeliner and lipstick. Seriously is he a Drag vamp? No he was supposed to be hot!

5. Prettier vamps? Where the not all supposed to be like drop dead gorgeous??? they did alright but could have done better

6. Better acting. Maybe they will be better in the sequel cuz they will have had more experience.

Ok, that said I still really did like the movie. The giggling teens were annoying but I am still glad I went and experienced it.

It was dang cold but the food was good and i had VIP tickets to the football game. It was an amazing game and I sat by some very stressed out and intense fanatic males. It was hilarious and of course they offered to explain all the plays for me.

One guy behind me got a phone call that when something like this:

"I am at the football game and under extreme pressure right now!..."

"Yes, i am under extreme pressure! They just got a touch down but are now trying to take away the points.".........

"Don't stress me out. I need a time out right now, don't stress me out i am under alot of pressure".....

It must have been his wife but it was extremely hilarious to see a grown man so stressed out over football. Ok, plus he was a little drunk so it made it even more funny.

It was perfect weather and all around a great day.

We dressed up for work today. My Boss was Sarah Palin and even had vote for me cards to pass out with funny quotes like i can see russia from my house... . It was pretty hilarious. I just wanted to wear sweats to work so here i am trying to pull off a Pacific Coast surfer with leis. hehehe lame i know but i was really comfortable. The dean had a hard time figuring me out. Where is your creativity huh???? I really dug my cardboard surfboard. It's the me mini model. It is soo hot right now!!!!

My car got broken into this morning and my iPod was stolen. I am soooo sad.

Blake gave me that iPod a long time ago and put good music on it for me.

I neglected to lock my car when I got home last night and this morning most of my doors were open, the glove box open, and the middle arm rest thing was open. The one night i don't lock it!!!

My beach towel of all things was taken out and thrown in my flowers in front of my apt. they must have saw the muddy doggy prints on it from when Toby and I went running in the rain and chucked it. I think it happened this morning because my battery was not dead due to the doors being open. At least the windows were not broken or more damage was done.

At first it didn’t look like anything was stolen, but then I remembered I had my iPod in there from working out the other day. But I searched all my bags, purses, and apt to confirm it was really gone. I filed a police report and called my insurance company but they basically can’t do anything. At least Blake is awesome and kept the iPod box so I could give the police its serial number. Maybe by some miracle they ketch the dude and I can have my music back. Very doubtful I know.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I just needed to cry about it.

Coastal Field Trip

Hooray for the Beach. I got to take a group of new and returning students on a field trip to the Oregon Coast. It was a blast. We had a world renowned Oceanographer/ Geologist (who teaches for the my department) as our guide. We went to Seal rock, Hatfield Marine Science Center, Ona Beach for Lunch, and then on the the dormant volcano to Mary's Peak. It was very interesting to learn about the ancient volcanoes that shaped the Oregon Coast and about the different kinds of sediments, and how to identify them.

I found a slimy friend. Our unofficial mascot is the slug because our computer lab in the the basement so they call it S.L.U.G. Students Learning Underground. Anyway i got a kick out of it. It was pretty big!

Lots of sea foam. We had to trudge through it to get to the tidepools. Under the white fluffy top was puck green sludge. It was gross and sticky, I guess i should have expected that of dead organic matters. It did not come off easily.

All in all it was such an awesome time. I will do just about anything to go to the beach. Shoot and i got paid to do it! SOO fun......until next time.

P-Town and Utah

Blake and I got to go to Pendleton and then to West Point Utah last week.
It was good to see family again and have a good time!
In Pendleton Blake took me on a date to Great Pacific (GP) my favorite restaurant ever!
Then we went to La Grand with Blake brother Blair & his wife Amber to go shoot lots of guns.
It was awesome to be in the mountains again and shoot stuff up. Nothing living of course.
Later on we went to visit his parents in Utah. For this leg of the trip Blake didn't know i was coming but his mom did. I dropped him off at the airport Thursday and i flew over Friday night.
The shock on his face was priceless as i sneaked through the front door. The next morning I surprised his dad too. It was fun to be sneaky! On Saturday Blake and I went for a drive up the canyon to Snow Basin resort to see the trees leaves changing and to hike around.

We took the gondola up to the top and and it started raining and thundering so we didn't last long on the trails. On the way down got stuck about 3 or 4 times as it hailed, rained, & lightning adn thundered. It was pretty funny I thought. hehehe

When we finally made it down and back to civilization we went to dinner with his parents and his sisters family at a Texas Road House. It was pretty good.

All in all a very good time!!!

It has been awhile!

For Labor day I took my good friend Kristin surfing at the Oregon Coast. It was her first time and I am proud to say that I got her hooked. She is obsessed so of course I have been suppling her obsession with movies, books, and cool websites. Now i am not the only one obsessed and wished I could go all the time.

So Sunday during sacrament of all places I suggested we go to the beach as a good sunday activity.
So we did. It was amazing! We went to Otter Rock & Devils Punch Bowl to watch the sunset, have a picnic dinner (some sand included), watch the waves and have good old friendship building time. We saw a few old surfer dudes paddle out and catch a few waves. And we saw a bunch of whales in the twilight. It was magical. I love the beach!!!

My office manager brought in hollyhock flowers from her garden and taught us how to make fairies.
It was pretty fun and hilarious we were doing it at work.

What you need:
a bloomed flower for the dress
Flower bud for the head

Instructions:
set the bloomed hollyhock upside down. Take a bud and peel off the green outer layers. You will see little holes at the base. Pick out two for your eyes. Shape the end of the left over greens for the nose. opposite of your eyes put the stem of the bloomed flower in the hole, now you have a head. Soo cute. Here is what we made....

Yesterday I ran in my first 5K ever. Hoooray. It was sooo fun. At mothers day Blake made me promise to run a 5K with him within a years time. I tried to get out of it but to no avail..anyway so I was telling a coworker about it and we became running buddies. Needless to say I guess i didn't need a year to train. On a whim I saw the Wondergirl race posted a window while cruising downtown and thought shoot I should do it.

So I talked to LeeAnn my running buddy and we signed up. It was sooo fun and i am so glad I did it. I was really proud of my self and i wasn't evern last. I had better time than i thought i would too. I am dog sitting right now so i took the pooch with me. I am glad I did. It got his walk out of the way and it was fun having him as my partner. He did really well too (don't worry the owners know i take him running).
I am totally hooked and am planning on doing the next race in Nov. Hooray for running.

Blake went Skydiving...without me....I am totally jealous. ? Yeah, so I get to work this morning to find that Blake sent me some pictures as an innocent way to tell me about it. I guess he was excited. Here is the proof he is mister adventure...

Mexico Adventure Day 5

Time to pack up a leave. I was actually ready to leave believe it or not. The Weather was really raining and windy as Hurricane Dolly started forming. We got out of dodge at the perfect time.

Don't I look hot? Me sick & tried after a long night. Yeah i totally didn't primp for the day.

We caught the shuttle to the airport early in the morning. The travel agency packed us in the van like sardines. It was kinda unpleasant. Good thing I am not tall because my knees where already hitting the back of the seat in front of me. Poor Blake. We finally made it to the airport and made it back to Dallas, TX safe and sound. Then we had a 4 hour drive back to Houston. The bonus was we got to stop and go to Dairy Queen and get a blizzard. We never do that, so it was a nice treat plus it was soooo hot.

Sorry this is a boring post but all we did was travel all day. Exciting. I'll get into posting my next chapter of my vacation (Texas) later on.

Mexico Adventure Day 4

Day 4 was awesome. We took a taxi to Playa del Carmen to catch a ferry to the island of Cozumel.It has some of the best diving in the world and was mostly undiscovered until Jacque Cousteau came along. Blake was really stocked to go scuba diving but then realized he for got his dive card. He was really bummed out but we whipped out our lonely planet guide book and found that it is on the best placed to go snorkiling too. Good thing we still had all our gear.
We we hoped on a super sweet fast ferry called AltraMar II.

Sorry the picture sucks we forgot to take a picture so I tried to get one off the internet.

Once we got to port we walked around window shopping for a bit and marveled at all the bright buildings. Really cool place but not so cheap due to all the Cruise ships. The locals like to play rip off the tourists. hehehe We got a taxi and booked it to beach Playa Palancar. We booked a boat to take us out snorkling to reefs Columbia Gardens and Palanacar. We had to wait a little while until more people signed up too.

So we ordered some mango virgin margaritas (YUMMY) and sat back, relaxed and slathered on the sunblock. Ok for those who know me i am obsessed with shell collecting. This place was heaven except no "Heather you can't collect shells here it is a nature preserve." AAAARRRGGGG. Thanks Blake for pointing that out!!! There where huge conch shells every where on the beach. How cool is that. Oh well I was good an didn't take anything but I was disappointed. Another couple finally signed up so we got on the boat and headed out.

Wow, was it amazing. We did the drift snorkeling where the boat dropped us off at one reef and we drifed a few miles to the other on. Sooo Cool. Our guide would point stuff out to us like stingrays or make ring bubbles with his mouth. I was impressed.

We both got sunburnt the day before so we wore our shirts. Blake also exposed the film so these ones are kinda crapy. But we kept being surrounded by a huge school of fish and they would get right in your face, not scared at all. It was really cool but kinda creepy because they followed us the whole time.

They were pretty big but you can't really tell here. Our fish posse!

This is an idea of the all the sweet coral we saw. This is really exposed, sorry.

It was an amazing time. Blake and I had fun chasing fish and diving down to get a better look at all the amazing coral. It wasn't long enough but we had to go back in because the park was going to close. We met a cool couple from on of the cruise ships and we shared a taxi. they got off first and when we got dropped off the taxi driver tried to charge us double the rate. After a heated debate we got it lowered a little. Crazy Taxi drivers!!!! Oh well right? We did some more shopping and hung out waiting for the ferry. We had reservations for the Mexican restaurant that night. we were starving when we got there but the food wasn't very good so we were disappointed. It was a fun day and we crashed when we got back. A few hours later I found out I had food poisoning so I camped out in the bathroom most of the night. Sad huh. I tried not to wake Blake up and when I was not in bed he found me sleeping on the bathroom floor and made me come back to bed. Fun times!!! We should have gone to the French restaurant.

Mexico Adventure Day 3

Day three we just had a chill day and took advantage of all the free activities at the hotel.
We went to the beach and tried to get a sailboat to take out but they wouldn't give us one to take out because it was to windy or something. Lame!!!! Here is a picture still of what we could of had. We could have shelled out the dough for a wave runner but we didn't.

So we check out the beach a little and went to the swing bar to get virgin Pina Colada's and swung around for a little bit and then check out the sailboats again. After our refresshing drink we attempted to snorkle. The water was a warm bath. So nice. The water was murky but it was still fun to swim around. We saw a few fish. Then after snorkiling we got lunch and headed for the pool.

There were alot of Europeans at the resort but we were still alittle shocked to see topless ladies and speedo's strutting their stuff. We tried to stay away. It is interesting how different cultures had totally different body image views. After we got over the shock we had a good time splashing around and me attempting to get a tan again. I had the super white Oregon tan going on. They had exercise bikes in the water. Crazy huh...we still raced. hehehehehe It was nice sunny day. So nice that i got sunburned on my shoulders even though i had so much sunblock on. We took a siesta nap too. So nice but houskeeping kept trying to get in so we bolted the door. COME ONE PEOPLE!!!!

That night we had reservations at the Italian restaurant. We thought that maybe it would have been as awesome as the French experience but it was just OK. But this was where Blake gave me a present. He got a gorgeous fossil pendant surrounded by silver with a turquoise stone inlay at the top. I was going to buy it for myself but he was sneaky and got before I could. The ladies at the next table kept looking at us and smiling. Everone thought we were on our honeymoon but no just anniversary but just as good. Actually the hotel staff didn't think we were married and were always surprised that we were. Apparently we look too young to be married.

Anyway it was great relaxing day and ended it with beach relaxation.

Mexico Adventure Day 2

On day two we slept in late. How great is that! I love sleeping in!!!! It was a beautiful sunny day so we decided to go see some ruins. We got a taxi to take up to Playa del Carmen where we could catch the local bus to some ruins. Well Blake cut a deal with the taxi driver and he was our chauffeur for the day. I am pretty sure he got a sweet deal from us. It was awesome to know we had transportation waiting for us and we could take our time. We are not the big tour group type of people so we forged our own way in style. hehehehe not really. The first stop was Coba. Coba has the highest temple and has not been totally renovated so it is still all overgrown with jungle. I felt like an archeologist's seeing the ruins for the first time. A few key places had been cleaned up and we had fun climbing all over everything. Here is one of the ball courts that the mayans played in. This one had a carved skull in it. Owwwww scary i wonder who was sacrificed? Winner or Loser?

Then we totally dominated the temple. We scurried up to the top and had an amazing view.
We even encountered a lonely bat in the top temple room. It was pretty cool and entertaining to see people freak out because it was so high and steep.
Conquered!!!

After we conquered Coba we drove up the road a ways and stopped to see some alligators but you had to pay like $10 a person to just get on dock to see them. We were to cheap but we still got to see some from the road. That was good enough for us. Then we drove some more in a nice air conditioned car to Tulum. It is right on the ocean and beautiful. Everything was roped off so we couldn't climb on anything but it was still cool to walk around. This place was fully restored so to me was not as fun as Coba but it was prettier. Take a look at what i mean....

Just look at that water!!! It was amazing plus it was really hot to we hiked down to the beach and jumped in the water with our cloths on. Well we did have swimsuits on but no towels. Hey man air dry right? I had a black swim suit in so i was showing it off through my tan shorts. hehehe We stayed cool anyway. The cool thing about this place was that there were a ton of iguanas. Here is our little friend Enrique.

This day was a dream com true. I have always wanted to see some ruins! Good Job Blake. You scored big points. Well the taxi took up back to our hotel and we were super hungry. Good thing we made a reservation for the French restaurant. It was amazing and I don't think it was because we were hungry either. Super nice and delicious. After our tummies were happy we hung out on the beach digesting. It was an awesome day!!!

Mexico Adventure Day 1

Hello everyone!
I just got back from my Mexico Adventure with Blake. It was Awesome!!!!
So i flew in on July 15th to Houston and rejoined my super hot husband. Then we drove 4 hours to Dallas to catch our flight in the wee hours of the morning. So we arrived in Cancun Mexico on July 16th. Wow was it hot, but interestingly enough it was not as humid as Houston. Interesting. I was still sweating though in the 90+ weather. We the hopped on our shuttle to head on down to the Riviera Maya where our hotel "Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda was located. It was about an hour south of Cancun. It was Beautiful.

When we got there our room was not ready so we had to wait about 30min in the non air conditioned lobby. Then finally we took the little golf cart bus to our Building. this resort was huge. Good thing we like to walk. Anyway when we arrived housekeeping was still doing its thing so we had to wait some more. We had no slept for over 24 hours so we were kinda cranky. But at least they had cute towel shapes on the bed for us!!!!

Finally we got to our room to find that we had double beds instead of a king. We were too tired to complain so we just pushed the beds together and took a nap. We were pooped. Once we regained consciousness we went exploring. Luckily we were right by the pool and one of the buffet restaurants. So we got some grub and sat by the beach.

It was a marvelous night with the most perfect person.

All the little girls wanted a piece of the action and I love this picture of them deliberating who would pick and what fireworks would be set off first. Look close and you can see them pointing fingers. I love Aaron's expression as he patiently lets them express their little opinions. can you just hear the squeals and heated debates?

Some of the other girls watching the show. They were trying to be brave and get as close and they could but they were still scared. It was funny to see them jump back then get close again.

Beach Time

S'mores anyone? After dinner we drove down on the beach to make s'more.
Our fire was a little sad but we still had fun.

Did you know that there are more that one Hay Stack Rocks in Oregon? This is Hay Stack Rock #2 or the locals call is Chief Kiawanda (sp?). If you live in Oregon you would know that real Hay Stack Rock is at Cannon Beach so I was surprised to learn that there are two. Who would have known. I guess this is the chiefs profile and his ponytail. :)

Pacific City Beach. You can actually drive on the beach! How cool is that? On Friday morning I went for a run on a beach similar to this and saw a seal that popped out to check me out. It was very refreshing and relaxing. There was hardly anyone out on the beach except a few surfers.
So nice. I love the beach!!!!

Jenny, this is for you! My big sister Jen has a camera pose, so this is an ode to Jennifer with our big eyes and raised eyebrows. Sorry people, i forgot my makeup on this trip so I look scary.

Happy 3 Year Anniversary

We got married July 2, 2005 in the Columbia River Temple to the man I love and adore.
I am proof that a girl can wait for her missionary. Thank you for everyones support during those two years, you know who you are. I couldn't have done it with out you too Hawaii.

For all eternity. Funny thing about our rings is that he told me the wrong size for his ring so I had a hard time getting it on in the sealing room. I was pretty embarrassed but hey we got it on.

Last night was a girls night out with my friend Christa. Hooray!I ran almost 3 miles prior to our girls night so I decided to reward myself with some Gelato!Yummmmm. I think I deserved it after that. For you people that is a huge accomplishment because I hate running but I promised Blake we would run a 5K together so I have been training. Plus I want to be swimsuit ready for my mystery vacation. Can you still guess where I am going?

After gelato we went exploring down town. They just built a new swanky all Green (eco friendly, not the color green) high rise and we went to go investigate. Lo an behold they have a super sweet spa and we went in to get rates and get a peek. Since we were there at like 7:30 we got a VIP tour of the facility on a whim. It is on the first 3 floors of the building and is huge and super beautiful. WE even meet the owner, neato.

Short hair club!

About three weeks ago I chopped my hair. It was hot outside and it was time to so something to cool off. So on a whim right after my exercise class on a particularly steamy day I went straigt to the salon and told them to hack it all off. They took off about 10 inches and decided hey why not donate it since it is long enough. I was able to donate it through the salon with Locks of Love. As an added bonus as I was about to pay they said "Hey it free since you donated." How awesome it that? It totally made my day. So for all of you who have not see me recently I no longer have flowing long locks. Here is a picture to get you up to speed on my new look.

So i am house/ dog sitting right now and it is a blast.
I am kinda making a side career of it.
It is a nice break from apartment living anyway.
So here is my little buddy Toby. We like to go on runs to the park, play fetch, get crazy hyper and take long walks on the beach. Hehehe just kidding but we do go running, play fetch (he would play all day he has so much energy), and i give out lots of doggy massages and belly rubs. Yes, he is spoiled. I love thier garden too so i had to add a picture. It is so relaxing.

So I just started taking a sewing class put on by some super cool ladies at church. So the inspiration to start sewing stemmed from attending a purse party a few weeks ago. They were all so stinking cute and I wanted them all but then my friend & I thought to ourselves we could make our own.

So here is the first sewing project ever by me. I thought it turned out pretty cool. I had some left over fabric so I'm thiking that I am going to attempt a smaller version. Next week we are making pajama pants. I am excited. Anyway Enjoy!
